I did it! I survived my first day back to work as a mom of 3 children! Okay...so it wasn't a full day....but the point is the last time I was steadily in the office was February 28th when my doctor placed me on bedrest! It's been FOUR MONTHS since I was at work on a daily basis. I've been working from home some, but it just isn't the same as being in the office every day.
The morning was a bit chaotic. Chloe blessed me with a night of sleep....10pm until 5am. When she awoke at 5am she wanted to eat and play for awhile. After a bit, she decided she was sleepy again and once she fell asleep I attempted to put her down to get ready for work. She didn't like that idea and immediately began to fuss. So I picked her up and she snuggled her face close against my neck, letting out a big sigh and falling quickly to sleep. It was at this moment I had my "cry of the morning." It was as if she was saying "ahhh...I have my mommy. I can rest now." :(
While leaving Chloe was by no means easy, knowing the boys were with her and that she was in the care of Kim put my mind and heart at ease. I knew she would be loved and taken well care of. And she was. She barely cried at all.
The weeks ahead will hold lots of transition for us as I settle into a full time schedule soon and Austin goes on swing shift. With each passing day, I know we will find our way and things will workout just fine.
